CEMPROC team
Katie Windle is CEMPROC's program and development associate in Ibarra,
Ecuador, where she assists with courses, has a leading role in the children's program
series, carries out research programs, and assists with funds development.
An American from California, Katie is a former Peace Corps volunteer and a former
CEMPROC volunteer.
Katie received her bachelors of arts in development studies from the University of
California at Berkeley in 2002, and she has completed a graduate-level course in Negotiation
and Conflict Resolution in Latin America offered by IIMCR and Tec de Monterrey Institute.
Having previously completed research and training internships at International Alert (Peace
and Development Programme) in the United Kingdom and the Association for the Support of
Aboriginal Health in Australia, Katie focused her Peace Corps work on community
education through youth workshops on conflict resolution, sexual education, and human rights
; and by developing an adult program to promote the rights of Colombian refugees. Katie
has been featured in numerous newspapers, radio, and on Prism TV news program in Ibarra for her
work with CEMPROC’s program “Conflict Resolution for Kids” and her role on the
teaching team of the training and dialogue series for Colombian and Ecuadorian women
entitled, "Breaking Destructive Cycles".
