Training & Dialogue Series for Colombian & Ecuadorian Women, Ibarra, June 2005



CEMPROC and its partners presented a training and dialogue series entitled
"Breaking Destructive Cycles" for Colombian and Ecuadorian women who are community
leaders in Ibarra. With collaboration from Johns Hopkins University, the United
Nations Development Fund for Women and UN High Commission on Refugees, Centro
Integral de la Familia, the Municipal Gov't of Ibarra, and others, the program was
highly successful.
CEMPROC Environmental Conflict Mini-Symposium, Quito/Baeza, May 2005



CEMPROC hosted an environmental mini-symposium in Quito and Baeza, Ecuador for a group of undergraduate students
from Salem International University. The symposium featured expert guest speakers,
field visits to environmental disaster conflict sites, meetings with local community
leaders to discuss the effect of these conflicts, trips to the rainforest, cloudforest,
waterfalls and caves, and a simulated environmental negotiation exercise.
Conflict Resolution for Kids, Quito Ecuador, April 2005





CEMPROC presented its acclaimed program, "Conflict Resolution for Kids," for over 400
children in a school in South Quito. Diana Palacios and Gabriela Delgado were
the instructors.

Pastors for Peace



CEMPROC, in collaboration with the Center for Integrated Family Services, a counseling
center in Quito, presented an intensive conflict resolution training course for church
leaders over two weekends in Santo Domingo and Esfuerzas, Ecuador. It was co-taught by
Jeff Pugh, Dr. Martha de Camas, and Pastor Marco Tomala.
CEMPROC-Peace Corps Children's Programs in Ibarra (June 21-July 2, 2004)

CEMPROC and the U.S. Peace Corps presented a joint program for 54 children in Ibarra, Ecuador, teaching them about peaceful conflict resolution. The course, which was also sponsored by the Municipal government of Ibarra and the Sports Federation of Imbabura, was co-taught by CEMPROC's Jeff Pugh and the Peace Corp's Katie Windle.

and taught several short lessons as part of a fundraising and promotional tour.
Children's Programs (April 19-30, 2004)



CEMPROC offered four children's programs at a school in a low-income area of Quito
CEMPROC Pastors for Peace course (January 19-23, 2004)



CEMPROC's one-week course for pastors and church leaders from all over Ecuador was a great
success. Given as part of the practicum training of SIFAT-Ecuador, this course equipped these
leaders with conflict resolution, communication, negotiation, and mediation skills.
Short courses



CEMPROC has offered a number of shorter, one-day courses in Ecuador and the U.S., training community
and organizational leaders in effective and peaceful conflict resolution techniques and tools.
