Family Conflict Resolution Training


Conflicts within family situations are of the most common types of conflicts. They are part of everybody´s daily life. Mostly these conflicts are temporary and not destructive. However, conflicts within families can become longlasting, or even violent and dangerous. Because relationships within families are the most intensive and emotional relationships that exist it is of the utmost importance to maintain those relationships.

This course is directed at everybody wanting to improve their skills in conflict resolution in family situations. Participants will learn what the elements of a conflict are, how they can improve communication with their children, husband or wife or with older people. Common problems in family situations will be discussed and participants will learn how to manage conflicts while making use of mediation and negotiation strategies.

The course will take place in Quito, Ecuador. In five sessions of 12,5 hours in total participants will be familiarized with the issues.

The course will take place on the following days: the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st of March and the 1st of April 2008

The schedule is from 18h00 until 20h30 in the afternoon
