  • Forum: ¿Medio Ambiente = Medio Político? Desafíos políticos, conflictos y transformación ambiental en el Ecuador (The environment, a political medium? Political challenges, conflicts and environmental transformation in Ecuador



  • CEMPROC and the Universuty of Georgia, US, organized a forum, open to anyone interested. The main theme was the linkages between the environment and conflict.


    In the forum Jeffrey Pugh, director of CEMPROC international, Dr. Fausto Sarmiento, professor of Geography at the University of Georgia (US) and Andrés Quintero, specialist in Conflict Resolution, from Bogotá, Colombia. The following topics were treated:
  • “Activismo medioambiental: Nueva época de políticos verdes” (Environmental activism: New era for Green Politics) (
  • “El conflicto con Colombia: Influencia en la salud y el ambiente” (The conflict with Colombia: Influence on health and the environment)
  • “¿Como rompemos los ciclos de conflicto y degradación ambiental en la región Andina?” (How do we break the cycles of conflict and environmental degradation in the Andean Region?)




  • The forum took place on the 28th of May at Hotel Baltra, it started at 18.00

  • Family Conflict Resolution Course
  • CEMPROC is organizing a new public course on Conflict Resolution, this time focussed on conflicts in the family environment. The course exists of 5 sessions of 12,5 hours in total and will take place on the 24,25,26, and 31 of March and the first of April.

  • Peacebuilding & the Church: Listen to Audio


  • Executive Director Jeff Pugh has been teaching a 4-week series on the Challenge of Peacebuilding for the Church, hosted by Grace United Methodist Church in Baltimore, MD. During this discussion series, participants will examine the ways in which the church can be a force for seeking reconciliation, promoting justice in society, and healing the wounds of conflict. Each session will focus on these questions at a different level, examining conflict at the international, national, community/church, and interpersonal levels.
